Product Description

This hat uses smocked stitches to gather fabric together, for a richly textured fabric. This leaflet also includes instructions to make a matching cowl.

Yarn
DK or Worsted weight yarn (knits to 20 sts / 4”) Hazel Knits recommends either Lively DK or Cadence.
For hat: 70 (80, 90, 110, 150, 170) yds
For cowl: 90 (225, 450) yds

Sizing

Hat: Baby (Toddler, Child, Adult S, M, L)
Fits head 16 (17.5, 19, 20.5, 22, 23) inches around
Cowl: Child (Adult Short, Adult Long)
6 (9.5, 9.5) inches tall by 19 (23, 48) inches around

Needles
For hat: US #4 / 3.5 mm 16” circular needle,
US #6 / 4 mm 16” circular and DPNs
(or as req’d to meet gauge)
For cowl: US #6 / 4 mm 16 (16, 32)” circular needle

Gauge
20 sts / 28 rounds per 4 inches in stockinette
27 sts/ 25 rounds per 4 inches in smocking stitch
(gauge using larger needles)
