THIS IS FOR A HARDCOPY OF THE PATTERN TO BE SENT VIA MAIL.
Featuring a repeating leaf pattern reminiscent of the laurel that encircled the heads of the first Olympians, Laurus is a delicate one-skein shawl. Knit from the center top, the wings of the shawl drape gently over the shoulders, ensuring Laurus won't slip during your next knitting marathon. Its lacy leaves travel down the spine and create a visually striking border. Wrapped in Laurus, you'll feel victorious!
Laurus requires 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. Hazel Knits recommends: Artisan Sock, Entice MCN, Divine or Piquant Lite, each of which has 400 yards. You can find those yarns here.
Gauge is 22 stitches over 4 inches. It is knit rather loose with the fingering weight yarn for a lovely drape.
Additional materials: US 6 (4.0mm) 24-inch circular needle. Piece is worked back and forth. You'll also need 2 stitch markers.
About the Designer, Melissa Goodale:
Mel spends her days in Seattle dreaming up new designs and playing with yarn. Her projects expand to fill the space available. Luckily, this doesn’t seem to bother her loving husband and two sons.
